Persian Voice datasets
The gap between formal and colloquial Persian changes pronunciation enough to affect speaker modelling, so recordings are kept to one register. A speaker recorded reading a formal passage and speaking casually will not match against themselves, and the register is recorded alongside the session.
What voice work in Persian requires
Enough utterances per speaker
Speaker modelling needs multiple recordings of each individual, not one recording each from many individuals. The per-speaker minimum is the number that constrains the project.
Channel consistency
A speaker recorded on two different microphones looks like two speakers to a verification model. Recording equipment has to be held constant within a speaker.
Consent that covers biometric use
Using a voice to identify a person is a different purpose from transcribing their speech, and the consent has to say so explicitly. This is the requirement most often missing.
The mistake that costs the most
The most common mistake is treating voice data as interchangeable with speech data and discovering during legal review that the consent does not cover biometric use.
The language-specific factor
Written Persian and spoken Tehrani Persian are far apart: verb endings, pronouns, and connected speech all shift in the colloquial form. Transcribing spoken recordings against the written form produces text that does not match the audio.
